This large, deciduous, shrub or small tree can grow to 4 meters tall and wide. This magnolia has dark green oval-shaped leaves and flowers tht are long-pedaled, deep reddish purple fading to white. It blooms in late April, sometimes into June and does best in soil that is acid and evenly moist in light shade.
